Some clients can get out and about in a power chair but cannot drive it safely in every setting: busy footpaths, tight shops, a car park with traffic. This rear attendant control and handle set gives a carer their own joystick and push handles on the back of the Freedom electric folding wheelchair, so control can pass to the carer when it needs to.
The handles give a carer somewhere secure to hold while steering, and the control sits within easy reach so the chair can be driven from behind without leaning over the client. Nothing about the client’s own driving position has to change.
It suits shared use: a client who drives at home and hands over on outings, or a client who is still building up driving skills and needs a carer to take over.
