A rear mounted control and handle set that lets a carer drive a Freedom folding powerchair from behind. It suits clients whose vision, cognition or upper limb function makes independent driving unsafe in some settings, and clients who drive themselves at home but need help in a crowded shopping centre or on a busy footpath.
The armrest joystick stays where it is. When the carer takes hold of the rear control it overrides the front one, so there is no swapping of parts and no moment where neither person has control. The handles give the carer a comfortable position to steer and stop from.
It fits across the Freedom Chair range.
