Swing away footrests earn their place on a shower commode when transfers are the hard part of the routine. They move clear of the front of the chair so the client can bring their feet to the floor and stand, or so a carer can get close enough to assist, then swing back to support the legs for the shower and for the trip down the hall.

These are the stainless steel version, supplied as a pair. Stainless holds up well against constant water and the cleaning products used in a shared bathroom, which matters on equipment that gets wet every day of its life.

For a client with oedema or poor foot clearance, being able to move the rests clear of the transfer makes the whole thing calmer.
