About this product

The Rifton Activity Chair is active seating: a chair designed so the person in it can do something, not just be contained by it. Therapists use it for feeding, speech therapy and active learning, and for clients who need help regulating sensory input, and it works from young children through to adults.

Its adjustability is what makes it hold up across that range. The chair adapts to different body shapes, sizes and conditions, so a school or a service can keep one chair working for different students over years rather than buying a new one for each. Seat, back, armrests and footplate all set independently, which means you can build the position the task needs and then change it for the next activity.

A directional assist wheel is available as a fifth wheel and retrofits to medium and large chairs. It keeps the chair tracking forward when it is being pushed, without taking away the manoeuvrability that makes it useful in a busy classroom.

Parents often see what the chair does in the classroom and then want one at home, which is usually the clearest sign it is doing its job.
