Some clients do not sit still, and they should not have to. This seat and back is sprung, so when a client pushes back into extension the back gives, absorbs the movement and returns them to an upright position.
For a client with extensor thrust or strong involuntary movement, that constant give takes the fight out of sitting. They get the sensory feedback they are seeking without being pushed out of the chair, and the seating stays in alignment through a whole session. For the carer it means less repositioning and fewer belts tightened to hold a position that the client keeps working against.
It fits the Rifton Activity Chair frame in small, medium and large, so a client can move onto it without changing their whole seating setup.
