These are Raz Design’s standard flip-up arm supports, supplied as a pair with the longer of the two padded arm pads. They mount to the back frame of the commode and adjust for height and angle, so the arm sits where the client actually needs it.
The flip-up action is the point. The arm swings up and back so a client can slide across for a lateral transfer, and a carer can get in close for personal care without working around a fixed arm. The pad is closed cell foam, which drains and dries quickly rather than holding water between showers.
They fit the Raz-AP and SP attendant and self propelled commodes, the AT and CAT tilt models, the ART rotational tilt and the Zum. Standard pads suit most adults; for a client with a short upper arm, or where the arm needs to sit further back to clear a basin, choose the short arm version instead. On the recline models the two-point arm option keeps the pad parallel to the seat as the back goes back.
