A client with limited upper trunk or head control often cannot hold themselves forward over a toilet, and that affects how well the position works for bowel care. This tray mounts into the Heron arm rests and gives them a surface to rest their forearms and lean on.
Leaning onto a support in front lets the client take up a more natural toileting position without a carer having to hold them there. It also gives them somewhere to put their hands during a longer session, which helps with the ones who get restless.
The tray drops into the arm rests and lifts out again, so it is out of the way for transfers and easy to take off for cleaning.
