Carbon fibre is what makes the Carbon Lite different. The whole chair weighs 9.8 kg and the frame on its own just 6 kg, so it is easy for most carers to lift into a car.
The 559 mm (22 in) rear wheels come off with a quick release, the backrest half folds and the frame folds compactly. Removable swing-away footrests with height-adjustable footplates clear the way for transfers. There are knee brakes for the user and push handle brakes for the carer, plus anti-tip wheels, a seatbelt and a rear storage pocket.
Who it suits
A person who self-propels and travels often, where every kilogram counts for them or their carer, up to 130 kg. It has no tie-down points and is not for use as a seat in a motor vehicle, so plan to transfer into a vehicle seat.
