For a client who wants to keep getting out, the weight of the chair often decides how often it leaves the house. The ATMOS Ultra-Lite folds in one movement and the frame weighs 8 kg without leg rests and cushion, so a partner or carer can lift it into a boot without help.
It is still a full self-propelled chair. The 559 mm (22 in) rear wheels come off with one push of a button, the solid tyres never go flat, and the backrest folds down to make the package smaller again. Swing-away leg rests and flip-up footplates clear the way for standing transfers. Push-to-lock brakes are paired with user brakes, and the seat and back cushions lift out to wash.
Who it suits
A client who self-propels short to medium distances and travels by car, with a carer who needs a chair they can handle alone. It is crash tested to ISO 7176-19 at its full 136 kg capacity for use as a vehicle seat when correctly tied down. The seat and back are fixed, so a client who needs postural support, tilt or a specialised pressure cushion will be better served by an adjustable chair. Book a trial and we will work through the options with the prescribing OT.
