The Robooter E40 is a folding power wheelchair for everyday community use. It carries up to 150 kg, has a roomy seat 460 mm wide and 440 mm deep, and folds by hand in two steps to 700 x 624 x 450 mm for the car boot or a corner at home.
It travels at up to 8 km/h and covers up to 20 km on its 20 Ah lithium battery. Pneumatic rear tyres soften footpaths, and the chair climbs slopes up to 9 degrees and steps over obstacles up to 40 mm. The Bluetooth attendant remote lets a carer drive the chair from behind when the user is tired or the ground is tricky.
Who it suits
A client up to 150 kg who can transfer and sit without postural support, and who wants a sturdy folding powerchair for shopping, appointments and outings. At 25 kg it is heavier than our carbon fibre chairs, so plan who will lift it into the car. Clients who need tilt, pressure management or specialised controls are better served by a complex rehab powerchair, and the final choice rests with the prescribing OT.
