About this product

The Ikon Enduro Powerlite is for the client who can walk around the house but cannot walk a shopping centre, an airport or a day out, and who needs a chair that a partner can lift into a car boot without a hoist, a ramp or a second person. The carbon fibre frame keeps the weight down to something one person can manage, and the chair folds sideways in one movement.

Two brushless motors drive the rear wheels with enough torque for a ramp or a moderate slope, and flat-free tyres with front suspension and anti-tip wheels handle footpaths and kerb crossings. The lithium battery is aeroplane safe, which is the reason a lot of clients choose this chair over a heavier one. The joystick controller has an LCD display and swaps to either side, the armrests lift for side transfers, the backrest folds down with a storage pocket behind it, and an attendant remote is included so a carer can drive it in tight spaces.

It is a community access and travel chair rather than an all day seating system. The sling seat is fixed, with no tilt, recline or pressure care, so a client who sits in their chair for most of the day or needs postural support should be scripted a full power wheelchair instead.
