The supports move to suit the client’s shape and can be reset as posture changes over time, so the chair keeps up with a progressive condition long after the first set up.
Holding midline does more than look tidy. It keeps the head over the pelvis for eating and drinking, opens up the chest for breathing, and stops the slow slide into a fixed curve that becomes painful and hard to reverse.
Therapists usually specify it where a client is spending long periods seated and the standard backrest is not enough to control lean.
