The universal shape is the one to start with when a client needs general postural support that will be used in several ways: behind the back, under an arm, between the knees, along the trunk for side lying. It is filled with fine polystyrene micro particles, so it takes the shape it is pressed into and keeps supporting as the person moves.
For carers it is simple to work with. The cushion can be shaped by hand at the bedside without tools, which makes night repositioning quicker, and the waterproof breathable cover wipes clean with ordinary detergent or a disinfectant solution.
It has a place in pressure injury prevention and wound care, in bed at home or in hospital, and in a day chair where a client needs help holding midline.
