If your client’s SB1 has to work in a compact bathroom, the shorter bridge is what makes it fit. The bridge is the section that spans from the base unit to the shower or the toilet, and a shorter one lets the whole system sit inside a room where the standard span would not clear the door swing or the vanity.
It is an aluminium part that bolts into place, so it can be ordered with a new SB1 or fitted to a chair your client already uses. Everything else about the transfer stays the same: the rolling chair still glides across the bridge, and the carer still moves the person without a lift or a stand.
Measure the bathroom carefully before ordering, and check the serial number under the seat cushion, since chairs marked with an R take the matching R version of the bridge.
