The casing is powder coated steel, so it copes with being pushed around a consulting room and cleaned regularly. The tread area is finished in imitation leather, which is comfortable underfoot and quick to wipe down between patients.

The round dial is large and clearly marked, making it readable for a client checking their own weight as well as for the clinician. A reset to zero function lets you correct the starting point, and transport protection keeps the mechanism safe when it is being moved or stored.
