A power wheelchair is only useful if it comes along. The Robooter E80 is built around that: a carbon fibre frame that weighs 15.9 kg and folds by hand into a package small enough for a car boot, so a client can keep using powered mobility on outings, appointments and holidays rather than leaving it at home.
Pneumatic tyres, 254 mm (10 in) at the rear and 203 mm (8 in) at the front, soften footpaths and paved surfaces. The chair climbs slopes up to 9 degrees and steps over obstacles up to 40 mm, and it is rated IPX5 against water. The Bluetooth attendant remote lets a carer drive the chair from behind when the client is tired or the ground is tricky.
Who it suits
A client who can transfer and sit without postural support and wants a light powered chair for community use and travel, with a carer or family member who will lift it into the car. It has a standard seat and back, so clients who need tilt, recline, pressure management or specialised controls are better served by a complex rehab powerchair.
