Who it suits
This is the Rifton Activity Chair built on the hi-lo base, supplied with the seat and back, the footboard and a push handle. It suits a client who needs postural support through the day and a carer who needs the chair to come up to a comfortable working height for transfers and care.
The hi-lo base raises and lowers the seat, so the client can come up to the table for a meal or a class activity, then down for a transfer or floor play with siblings. Tilt in space and backrest angle are set separately, which lets you keep the hip angle you want while changing how much the client is working against gravity. The push handle gives the carer a controlled place to steer from when moving the chair between rooms.
Adjustments are tool free and can be made with the client still seated, which matters in a classroom or a busy home. The pelvic belt option adds a secure point of control at the hips.
