Good sitting starts at the feet. The footboard gives a client in the Rifton Activity Chair a firm surface to load through, so the pelvis stays back in the seat and the trunk has something to work against as the client sits up.
The knee angle is adjustable, so you can set it for tight hamstrings, a fixed knee position or a client who needs their feet further forward to feel stable. The height moves with the client as they grow, and the adjustment is tool free, so a teacher aide or a parent can change it between sessions without waiting for a review.
