Calf supports stop the lower legs sliding back behind the foot plates, which is where heels get caught and where a child with extensor tone tends to push their feet off the supports altogether. This one mounts to a single foot rod and sits behind both calves.
Keeping the calves in front of the pad holds the feet on the plates, and that in turn holds the knee and hip angles the seating was set up to achieve. It also makes moving the chair safer, since the legs cannot trail behind the foot rests.
It is supplied in one size for the single rod setup.
