Thin clients feel a sling. A thigh with little padding over it takes the full edge of the leg section, and after a couple of transfers a client who was happy to be hoisted starts refusing. The Oxford Comfort Padded is a contoured general purpose sling built to stop that, with padded leg sections that spread the load across the thighs instead of concentrating it at the hem.
It attaches with Oxford’s Securi3 clips onto a four point positioning cradle, so the sling locks to the bar and cannot come away mid transfer. Every size carries the same safe working load, which simplifies things where one client changes size or several clients share a hoist. Colour coded binding shows size at a glance: brown, red, yellow, green and blue running extra small to extra large.
Positioning handles give the carer something to hold while settling the client back into the chair, and a modesty loop keeps the leg sections closed during the lift. The fabric suits amputee clients, where the leg sections need to hold a shorter limb securely.
It has no head support, so a client who cannot hold their head up needs the head support version or a full body sling. For showering, the net version dries faster than polyester.
Good to know
- Clip attachment only: it fits Oxford Presence, Stature and other clip cradle hoists, not loop-yoke hoists
- Size by client height and build using the Oxford sizing chart, not by weight alone
- Follow the label wash instructions; do not tumble dry the clips hot
