Bariatric transfers put demands on a sling that ordinary sizes cannot meet: body shape, weight distribution and the dignity of the person being lifted all have to be handled at once. The RgoSling MediumBack Plus is built for plus size users and supports the whole body up to the shoulders.
It has a split leg opening and six straps with fixed loops at four heights, so the carer can set the sitting angle and the weight distribution to suit the individual. The leg supports are padded with dual straps, and the loops are colour coded so a team can repeat the same fit every time. Head control is needed, since support stops at the shoulders. A separate headrest can be added where it is not.
It is used with a four point sling bar.
