Pressure on the coccyx or the perineum makes sitting unbearable for some clients, after surgery, through a pregnancy, or with a pressure injury in that area. The ring cushion opens the centre of the seat so the load moves onto the ischial tuberosities and thighs and off the middle.
Two foam options are available. Conventional polyurethane foam is the softer everyday choice. Moulded polyurethane foam holds its shape longer under a heavier or a full time user, which is worth choosing where the cushion is in use most of the day.
The fabric cover lifts off for washing, and it is a straightforward item to issue and to replace. It is DVA approved.
