The EquaGel Adjustable Protector is aimed at clients with existing skin damage or a history of it, where the seating has to do serious work and stay predictable between reviews. It is built from gel columns that buckle under load, so the gel walls give way where pressure is highest and pass that load out to the columns around them.
Two layers do different jobs. The upper grid is fine and thin walled for comfort at the skin, the lower grid is thicker and more widely spaced to carry the weight. Two removable pelvic contour inserts let you change the depth of the pelvic well, so the fit can be tuned to a client and then left alone between reviews.
The open cell structure lets air move through the cushion, which helps for a client who overheats in the chair. It comes with a fluid resistant, vapour permeable, flame resistant cover with a carry handle, a positioning tab and a rear zip, and it carries a high user weight allowance.
