Walking in a posterior frame only builds a useful gait pattern if the child stays upright through the pelvis. This combined pelvis and bottom support pad holds that position, supporting the pelvis from behind so the child walks tall and straight, with less sinking into a crouch.
It gives the child something to sit back against during a walk, which takes some of the fatigue out of a longer session and lets the therapy goal be met without a rest break every few metres.
Therapists use it where the aim is a more physiological gait, upright posture and longer walking distances, and it can be removed once the child no longer needs it. It fits the malte posterior walker and matches the frame size.
