A folding powerchair only helps if it fits into the rest of someone’s day. The Jazzy Carbon Ultra Light folds with one lever, its heaviest piece weighs 15.3 kg without the battery, and it packs down to 620 x 340 x 800 mm. That makes powered mobility realistic for outings and trips, with a carer or family member lifting it into the car boot.
The frame and 12 in drive wheels are carbon fibre. Two 170 W motors drive the rear wheels at up to 6 km/h, and the 8 in solid front castors won’t puncture. The standard 10 Ah lithium-ion battery (252 Wh) is the one Pride lists as airline compliant. An optional 20 Ah battery (504 Wh) suits longer days at home, but it is not approved for air travel. Front and rear LED lights help in low light.
Who it suits
A client up to 136 kg who can transfer and sit without postural support, and who mostly travels on sealed footpaths, in shopping centres and indoors. Pride rates grass and uneven paving as caution, and gravel, sand and slopes over 10 degrees as not recommended. The seat is a fixed 450 x 450 mm with a 480 mm seat-to-floor height, so clients who need tilt, recline, pressure care or alternative controls are better matched to a complex rehab powerchair.
