OptiCell Air1 is an air and foam hybrid mattress for clients at high risk of pressure injury who need a surface that adjusts to them without a pump running all night. Interconnected, foam free air cells move air automatically from loaded areas to less loaded ones, so pressure evens out across the whole surface as the person shifts.
Because the air system is closed, the pressure inside the cells can be checked and set for the individual with a manual gauge, and the sleeping environment stays silent. The sealed system also keeps air from being pushed out of the mattress into the room, which helps on the infection control side.
The hygiene cover is a four way stretch polyurethane with welded seams and a waterproof zip on all four sides, so it stands up to the cleaning regimes used in hospitals and aged care. The R7 build suits beds where a lower mattress height is needed.
