Pressure risk moves. The Dyna-Form Mercury Advance is a hybrid built for that: a high specification foam mattress with air cells inside it, used static on its own or connected to the pump for alternating pressure. Your client steps up to dynamic therapy when their risk rises and steps back down again without a mattress change, a second delivery or a night on the wrong surface.
The pump sets pressure automatically to the client’s weight, so carers are not working from a dial and a chart. A fixed head section keeps the surface stable for sitting up and transfers, and the CPR valve dumps the cells quickly when it is needed. LEDs and an alarm flag low cell pressure. The cover is high frequency welded, multi-stretch and vapour-permeable, and it wipes down with hypochlorite under a standard infection control routine.
Who it suits
Clients at very high risk of pressure injury or with an existing injury, particularly where the picture is likely to change: palliative clients, clients recovering from surgery, or anywhere you want the option of alternating pressure without ordering a second mattress. Because it is foam first, a client already on it can stay on it when the pump is off. A stable client at medium risk will do just as well on plain high specification foam, at less cost and less weight.
