Who it suits
Plus size clients who need tilt in space seating and cannot be accommodated in a standard tilt chair. The Rea Azalea Max is built around wider, deeper seating and a higher weight capacity while keeping the tilt, recline and stability features of the Azalea family. This is the self propelling version with large rear wheels.
Tilt in space with weight shifting lets the carer move pressure off the seat surface without changing the client’s hip and knee angles, which matters for skin integrity and for clients who cannot reposition themselves. Invacare’s Dual Stability System keeps the chair settled through the tilt and recline range, so the client is not left feeling the chair move underneath them.
The backrest splits into upper and lower parts that reverse, giving more room in either the seat or the chest area depending on body shape. The footplate is in three sections with a removable middle, which clears the way for a stand or a hoist transfer. Power tilt and recline with a hand control can be added so the client or the carer can change position without help.
