The Netti 4U CE Plus is a comfort wheelchair with tilt in space and back recline working together. Tilt shifts weight off the ischial tuberosities without changing the seat to back angle, and the recline opens the body out from there, so a carer has two separate ways to change how a client is loaded through the day.
That is what this chair is for: clients who sit for long periods and cannot reposition themselves. Regular changes of position help manage skin loading, tone and fatigue, and they give a carer something to do about discomfort other than lifting the client out of the chair.
The adjustment range is the other reason therapists keep coming back to it. Seat width can be taken in or out from the ordered frame size, and seat depth adjusts as well, so the chair can follow a client whose seating needs change, or be reissued to someone else without buying a new frame. A range of back cushions is available, including a flexible back that allows movement rearwards. One hand arm support operation and foldable brakes make transfers easier where space is tight.
Who it suits
A client with limited or no independent repositioning, high seating hours, and a need for postural management rather than short trips out. A client who propels themselves and needs a light chair should be looking at an active manual frame instead.
