A footboard finishes the foot end of an Icare bed and gives bedding something to sit against. Draping blankets over it lifts the covers clear of the feet, which reduces weight on the toes and makes it easier for a carer to reach the lower limbs for exercises or dressing changes.
The three button style has a softly rounded edge and three statement buttons, and it comes in the same fabric range as the bed surround so the finish matches. It bolts to the bed frame with brackets and screws and moves with the bed as it is positioned, rather than staying behind while the bed adjusts.
For clients coming home after a long stay in hospital, a bed that reads as bedroom furniture can make a real difference to how the room feels. The footboard is decorative and practical, not a load bearing part, so it is not used for positioning or support.
