Gait retraining stops when the client, or the physio, is worried about a fall. The Handi-Move Walking Harness takes part of the client’s body weight through an overhead lift so they can practise walking with the fall risk removed.
Support is adjustable at the shoulders, abdomen, chest and legs, with thigh straps and a waist belt holding the load, and the harness adjusts to the shape of the person wearing it. Because the lift is carrying weight, a client with reduced leg strength can keep going further into a session before fatigue ends it, and the safety belt catches a stumble early.
It is a useful tool for rehabilitation after injury or surgery, for children building walking tolerance, and for maintaining standing practice in progressive conditions.
