The Eleganza 1 is a fully electric hospital bed for standard wards and long term care units. It handles the ordinary work of a ward well: profiling for positioning and meals, a single button cardiac chair position to open the chest and help breathing, and a height range that lets staff work without bending.
Who it suits
Patients who will be in bed for extended periods and need frequent repositioning, including taller people, since the mattress platform extends. Split plastic side rails can be specified with a soft drop function, and two separate unlocking movements are needed before a rail will come down, which reduces accidental lowering.
A fifth castor keeps the bed tracking straight down long corridors and gives a turning point at the centre of the bed, so one person can steer it through doorways. The lift columns cut out if they are overloaded, and the construction is deliberately simple so there is less to go wrong over a long service life.
