Not every client at risk needs a powered alternating surface. The CuroCell S.A.M. PRO is a static air overlay that sits on top of the existing mattress and holds a constant low pressure, set by the pump to suit the person lying on it.

It is used in prevention and in treatment of pressure injury through the earlier categories, and it suits a client who finds the movement of an alternating surface unsettling or who sleeps poorly on one. The pump is close to silent and only runs when the pressure needs correcting, which is a real consideration in a small bedroom.

The cover is four way stretch and vapour permeable, with a liquid proof zip, and can be removed for laundering between clients.
