A floor mat is the quiet option for a client who will not tolerate anything on the bed. The Cura1 2624 lies beside a bed or chair and lets a carer know the moment someone stands on it, before they have started walking anywhere.
It is cordless, which is the point. There is no lead running from the mat to a monitor for a client or a carer to catch a foot on, because the mat triggers the Cura1 2719 transmitter and the alarm goes by radio to a pager, monitor or nurse call system. The surface is non-slip polyurethane foam over a phthalate-free PVC base, sized to cover the length of a bedside, and it wipes clean between residents. Black or grey, so it does not announce itself in a lounge room.
Consider it for a client who gets out of bed or up from a chair without calling for help, with dementia or after a stroke, at home, in a group home or in aged care where someone can respond to a pager. It suits a client who is steady on rising but unsafe once walking.
Good to know
- Requires the Cura1 2719 cordless pad transmitter and a Cura1 receiver or pager, sold separately
- Place the mat where the client will step, not where a carer will walk
- Replace the mat at 12 months
- Manufacturer warranty is 1 year
