The Cura1 Economy Floor Sensor Mat is the budget end of falls monitoring, and for a lot of home situations it is all that is needed. It lies beside a bed, a chair or a doorway and triggers an alarm on the connected Cura1 4017 Economy Falls Monitor the instant someone stands on it, giving a carer warning that a person at falls risk is up and moving.
The surface is a heavy-duty non-slip material with low-profile edges, so the mat itself does not become the trip hazard, and it wipes clean. It folds for storage and transport, which suits respite and short stays where equipment moves with the client. A break-away cord is supplied that pulls apart if someone catches it rather than dragging the monitor off the bedside table. Choose single fold or dual fold depending on how much floor you need covered and how small it has to pack down.
It suits a client who gets up from bed or a chair without calling: dementia, delirium, post-operative confusion or night-time toileting. Because it alarms only once the person has stood, a client who falls on standing is better served by a bed sensor pad that alerts as they sit up or move to the edge.
