This is the full CairMax Duo system: the hybrid foam and air mattress together with its control unit. It suits clients from at risk through to high risk of pressure injury, including those with existing wounds, where the care plan may need to move between a static surface and active therapy.
The mattress has a foam core with alternating air cells set into it, and a foam head section that stays static so the client is stable for eating, talking and care. Used without the control unit it works as a static pressure redistributing surface, and with the unit running it alternates. AutoCair sets the pressure from the client’s weight, so there is no manual dial for staff to get wrong.
The top cover is machine washable and the rest wipes down, which matters in shared and community settings.
