The Elata E500 is the powered end of the range, for clients at very high risk of pressure injury. Its alternating design gives active pressure redistribution for treatment support at the higher stages, while the foam-supported surface keeps the feel closer to an ordinary mattress than a bare air system does.
That matters more than it sounds. Clients in rehabilitation or palliative care often refuse or fight a surface that feels unstable under them, and pain relief and pressure care have to work together rather than against each other. The foam support helps a sensitive client settle on a surface that is still doing active therapy underneath.
The system ships with its matched pump, which brings adaptive and tilt-sensing modes, a maximum inflation setting for transfers and repositioning, a comfort setting, and battery backup so therapy continues through a power interruption.
