For a client who spends most of the day in one chair, the chair has to do more than help them stand. The Alivio Leonardo runs four separate motors for the headrest, lumbar support, backrest and legrest, so positions can be built rather than chosen from a fixed pair. Legs up without dropping the back, head brought forward while lying back, lumbar dialled in and out through the day: each one is its own control.
The two stage lift tilts forward and up to bring the client to standing, and the chair also goes lay flat for rest or a nap. The steel frame and fabric upholstery are built for daily use rather than occasional sitting.
It is a common choice for clients with reduced leg strength, arthritis, cardiac or respiratory conditions, or oedema, who need assistance to stand and need to change position often. Independent head and lumbar control suits clients who sleep in the chair or need to redistribute pressure without going into a full recline. We supply it regularly for Support at Home clients and NDIS participants.
