For a client who is out of bed and in the chair for most of the day, the chair stops being furniture and becomes equipment. The Configura Comfort is a dual-motor lift and recline chair built for that: rise, recline and tilt-in-space each run on their own control, so a carer can change one thing without disturbing the rest of the client’s position.
What makes it worth specifying is the adjustment. Seat width, depth and height are all set on site, which means one chair can be reset as the client changes rather than sent back and replaced. Tilt-in-space with leg rest elevation handles pressure and fatigue through the day, and the rise function brings the client up to standing at the end of it.
Who it suits
A client with reduced mobility who needs long periods of supported sitting and repositioning through the day, after a stroke, with advanced Parkinson’s or with moderate pressure injury risk. The adjustable seat also suits shared use in a facility. A client who needs postural correction through a shaped back or lateral supports, or who is heavier than the load rating, is outside what this chair covers.
Three frame sizes are made, in Duratek vapour-permeable fabric or wipe-down vinyl in black or brown. The chair knocks down for delivery, fits through a standard doorway and sits on castors so it can be moved for cleaning.
