The Jazzy Carbon HD brings a 181 kg weight capacity to a carbon fibre chair that still folds for the car boot. Without its battery it weighs 14.6 kg, and it folds to 795 x 670 x 330 mm and latches closed for lifting.
Full front and rear suspension works with solid tyres, 6.5 in castors at the front and 10.6 in drive wheels at the back, to take the edge off kerb ramps and paving. Two motors drive the rear wheels at up to 6 km/h, with regenerative and electromechanical braking. The 20 Ah lithium-ion battery gives up to 20 km per charge. The joystick has an LCD display and disconnects quickly for transport, and a puddle light lights the ground when getting on and off in low light.
Who it suits
A larger client, up to 181 kg, who can transfer and sit without postural support and wants a powered chair for community outings and travel. Pride rates it for sealed footpaths, shopping centres and indoor use, with caution on grass, gravel and wet surfaces. The seat and back are standard and the seat-to-floor height is a fixed 480 mm, so clients who need tilt, recline, pressure care or alternative controls are better matched to a complex rehab powerchair.
