A simple wedge does a lot of work. Angled under the thighs it tips the pelvis back and discourages sliding forward in a chair. Turned the other way it opens the hip angle. Under a mattress topper or behind the trunk it props a client into a position they can hold without effort from a carer.
This one is cut from high density foam, so it keeps its shape under load over a long period. The cover comes off for washing, which is what makes it practical for a shared setting or for a client with continence needs. Three sizes cover most of the common uses, from gentle seated positioning through to bed and floor work with children.
It is a low cost item that is often worth trying early, before more involved seating changes are considered.
