This castellated foam cushion is the seat base for a Configura Bariatric chair. The cut foam blocks flex independently under load, so the surface moulds around the shape of the person, and load spreads across a wider area of contact.

For a heavier client that immersion matters. It reduces peak pressure under the ischial tuberosities and the coccyx, and the channels between the blocks let some air move through the cushion, which helps with the heat and moisture that build up during long periods of sitting.

It is supplied as the foam only, without an overlay, so the cushion can be paired with the cover or pressure overlay already specified for that client.
