The WendyLett Fitted Base Sheet does the work of a slide sheet while staying on the bed as the bottom sheet. Nothing has to be fitted and removed each time a client is turned, which is the reason it gets used at three in the morning when a rolled up slide sheet would not.
The centre section is a smooth satin weave that lets the client turn, or be turned, sideways along the direction of the stripes. Anti-slip panels sit on both sides of that sliding zone so the client cannot keep going and end up down the bed or off the edge. The stripes show the carer which way it slides at a glance. It goes on with elastic like any fitted sheet and works over pressure care mattresses.
It suits a client who needs help turning and is at risk of friction and shear damage to the skin, and the carer or family member doing that turning several times a day and night.
