This is the layer that makes an in bed turning system work. The base sheet sits on the mattress with a smooth satin panel through the centre where the movement happens, and anti slip cotton polyester around the edges so the sheet itself stays put on the bed while the client moves across it.
For a dependent client, that combination means a carer can turn them side to side with far less effort and far less dragging across the skin, which reduces the risk of tissue and nerve damage and supports a pressure care plan. Single and king single come as fitted sheets so they stay tidy on a domestic or care bed, and the double is a flat sheet.
Carers do not need special training to use it, and it launders with the rest of the bed linen, so it fits into an existing care routine without adding a new task.
