The Explorer is a four wheel scooter for everyday independence: the shops, the club, the medical centre and back. Four wheels give it a stable footprint at a standstill, which is reassuring for a client who is nervous about tipping, and rear suspension takes the sting out of broken footpaths and driveway lips.
Transfers are usually the deciding factor. The seat swivels fully and locks, so your client can turn to face out and stand from the edge without twisting, and the seat height has several settings to match their leg length and the way they stand. The high back contoured seat holds them comfortably once they are aboard.
The gas assisted tiller takes the effort out of setting the steering angle, and there are fingertip controls, variable speed, LED lighting, a horn and a USB port for a phone on longer outings.
