The Sorrento 2 is the chair we reach for when someone spends most of the day seated and can’t reposition themselves. It tilts 5 degrees forward to help with standing transfers, then back to 30 or 45 degrees depending on the model. The back reclines from 90 to 130 degrees and the leg rest rises from 80 to 150 degrees. Each movement is independent, so carers can offload pressure or settle someone for a rest without a hoist transfer.
Seat width, seat depth and footplate height adjust on site, so the chair can be set to the person and changed again if their needs change. Every contact surface uses pressure care materials. Choose manual levers, part motorised (tilt and leg rest) or fully motorised (tilt, back and leg rest).
Who it suits
People in hospital, residential care or at home who sit for long periods and need help with pressure care, posture and repositioning. The prescribing OT or physio sets the seat dimensions and options; we bring the chair to trial in the setting where it will be used, Tasmania-wide.
