Who it suits
Single patient use standing slings are for the client on isolation precautions, the client with a wound or skin condition where a shared sling is a risk, and the short stay admission where laundering a fabric sling is not practical.
This disposable sling works with the Arjo Sara 3000 for general standing transfers and toileting. It clips on the same way the reusable sling does, so staff do not need a separate procedure, and it stays with the one person for their stay before being discarded.
For infection control leads it closes an obvious gap in the transfer chain. For carers it means the sling is always there in the room, clean and ready, instead of being chased down the corridor at the wrong moment.
