A client sitting in a seat that is wider than they are will slide, rotate and end up off centre, and the toileting position goes with them. The HTS hip guides bring the seat width in so the pelvis is held square between two padded surfaces.
They slide onto the armrests with the notch up and back, and the armrest then passes through the guide into its slot. Two positions are available, so the width can be tightened as the client’s needs change or loosened as they grow.
Because they are quick to fit and remove, one chair can be shared between clients in a school or a group home with the width reset each time.
