The pan turns the HTS into a standalone commode, so the chair can be used away from the toilet: in a bedroom, at school, in a respite room or anywhere the bathroom is not workable that day.
It slides onto two rail tabs at the back of the chair under the seat and seats at the rear edge so it cannot slide out, and it lifts straight back out for emptying. Nothing has to be unbolted to put it in or take it out.
For families and support workers it means one chair covers both the bathroom routine and the times when getting there is not possible.
