Who it suits
The Sovereign is an adjustable self propelling wheelchair for a client who pushes their own chair and needs the fit tuned closely. It was designed with OT input, and the point of it is that one chair covers a wide range of prescriptions: seat depth, backrest height, backrest angle, lower leg length and armrest height and length all adjust, in small increments, on the chair you already have.
That matters when a client’s needs change. A growing young adult, someone losing trunk control, or a client whose seating has just been reassessed can often be accommodated by adjusting the chair they already have. All parts suit any adjustment made, so there is nothing extra to order in.
Seat widths run from narrow through to wide, and the larger widths carry a higher safe working load. Quick release axles make it easier to break down for a car.
